Los Angeles police responded to a ‘woman with mental health issues’ on Thursday. The call was about actress Tori Spelling, mother of five children. The police arrived at Spelling and husband Dean McDermott’s home in Woodland Hills, CA. They did a psych evaluation on the spot, and determined that Spelling did not need to be taken for a mental health evaluation at a hospital. A friend of Spelling’s told People Magazine, the actress “is in a very bad place, with a lot of pressure on her.” McDermott and Spelling have been married since 2006.
The friend said the ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ alum ‘can get very stressed out by internalizing all of her financial and martial woes’. The couple met on the 2005 set of the film ‘Mind Over Murder’, and immediately started an affair. Both of them were married, Spelling to actor Charlie Shanian and McDermott to actress Mary Jo Eustace. The Canadian born actor has one son Jack with Eustace. Both actors filed for divorce, and when their divorces were final they wed in 2006. The friend said that the last year has been very tough for Tori, trying to juggle, work, marriage and five young children.
Several sources have reported that the couple have severe financial problems, with neither one currently filming any projects. McDermott was appearing on a Canadian TV show, ‘Slasher’ on Netflix, the show was canceled after two seasons. The last acting job Spelling had was in 2016 with the TV movie, ‘Mother May I Sleep With Danger?’ The friend believes that Spelling had a breakdown, and the stress on her has been too much. The police on Thursday ruled the incident a ‘domestic incident’ but said no crime was committed. An LAPD source said officers gave Spelling numbers for help getting mental health care.
