Tyra Banks Leaving ‘America’s Got Talent’ For Other Projects

Former model and entrepreneur is leaving her job as host of ‘ America’s Got Talent’. Banks will not be returning for new season next year. She is saying that she has several projects lined up that she is producing. Banks starred in the sequel film ‘Life Size 2’, after her performance she’s been inundated with requests for other film work. Banks according to a source wants to do other acting gigs, and produce quality TV shows. Banks replaced former host Nick Cannon on ‘America’s Got Talent’ in 2017.

She has said she had a great time hosting the show, but after one season she feels it’s time to move on. Banks recently said she’s interested in producing another ‘Coyote Ugly’, since she starred in the original film in 2000. Banks had a biological son in 2116 with the help of a surrogate mother. The 45 year old former super model had her son, York, with her former boyfriend Erik Asia, the former couple dated briefly in 2010. According to sources Banks is raising her son alone, as Asia a photographer lives in his native Norway. The never married Banks told Oprah Winfrey in 2009 that ‘marriage isn’t necessary for everyone.’


A year ago she said she waited too long to have kids, and she had to do ‘IVF’ to have her son. She said, “I’m so happy I was able to have a biological son, it was very important to me. But I won’t be having any other kids. I think if I waited 6 more months it wouldn’t have been possible.” Banks said her mother Carolyn is helping her raise her son. Banks created the highly successful reality show, ‘America’s Next Top Model’ in 2003. She hosted the show and produced it, and acted as a mentor for the contestants who had dreams of becoming a model. The show had been canceled but was revived in 2016, and is currently in season 23 on ‘VH1’.
