Wendy Williams Health Delays Her Return To Her Talk Show

Talk show host Wendy Williams will not be dishing out the gossip on Monday January 7th as originally announced. Williams has had a rough few years with on-going health issues, which included her fainting during a live Halloween episode in October of 2017. An official statement regarding Williams’ return date read, “Wendy Williams will be returning with all new episodes of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ on January 14.” The statement continued, “After fracturing her shoulder, Wendy is on the mend and wants to return pain free and be 200%, delivering the best show that millions of viewers tune in to watch.”

A day before the announcement was made, Williams was on social media telling her fans that ‘there were only 3 days left until she returned to her show.’ She went on to say, ‘New year, new shows, make sure you tune in on Monday.” The post has since been deleted, as the date has been delayed by at least a week. Williams has not been filming any new shows since December 20th. The mother of one son and long time talk show host, took a break after slurring her words during a taping. She apologized to her fans by saying, “I sincerely apologize if you feel that today’s show was less than stellar.”

She added,”I’m on your TV screens every day wanting to spread laughter, entertainment and cheer. As I reported earlier in the week, I have a hairline fracture on my upper arm and it hurts like hell.” Williams was diagnosed with Graves Disease last year. Williams blamed her slurred speech on pain medication she took before the taping, ‘hoping to power through the pain’ however her plan backfired. She said, “I promise you a better Wendy in 2019. I will get much needed rest and healing over the next couple of weeks.”
