Rocker Ric Ocasek & Model Wife Announce Split After 28 Years Of Marriage

‘Cars’ front-man Ric Ocasek and his supermodel wife Paula Porizkova announced they are divorcing after 28 years of marriage. The model announced on her ‘Instagram’ page that the couple were going their own way. The couple have been living separate lives for over a year, she said, “Our family has always been and still is, a well built car. When the four of us are together, we can go wherever the road takes us. But as a bicycle my husband and I no longer pedal in unison.”

She continued, “Ric and I have been peacefully separated for the past year. The photos of our happy family are in fact happy, we are just no longer a couple. The love we have for one another is so wide and deep it’s piratically tangible, and that sort of love can never disappear. Expect to keep seeing happy family photos.” Porizkova went on to say the couple would no further comment and asked for privacy during ‘this difficult time.’ The model and actress is from Czechoslovakia, she met Osasek in 1984, when she was hired to be on the ‘Cars’ music video for their song, ‘Drive.’

The estranged couple have two adult sons together, Jonathan and Oliver Ocasek. The family put up a united front last month in Cleveland, Ohio, when Ocasek and his band were indicted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.’ This is Ocasek’s third wife, he met Porikova when he was still married to his second wife, Suzanne Ocasek. The musician has 6 children, 2 sons from each marriage. Porizkova inspired the song ‘Paulina’ included on the first album of the band, ‘No Doubt.’ In addition to a long career as a supermodel, the mother of two has also been a successful childrens author and actress.
